We care for the environment as much as you do, and work hard to craft thoughtful home appliances that help you to reduce your environmental impact.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY STRATEGY

NET ZERO EMISSIONS We are committed to reaching net zero emissions in our factories and business operations by 2030.
RESPONSIBLE USE OF PLASTIC We have removed a significant amount of single-use plastics in our UK head office and manufacturing site, which is calculated to save 400,000 single-use cups and 20,000 plastic bin liners from going to landfill sites each year.
RECYCLABILITY We recycle or refurbish all the old appliances we collect from consumer's homes as well as the packaging of new ones.
ZERO WASTE TO LANDFILL All our factories across the world have obtained Zero Waste to Landfill Gold or Platinum Level including our Yate manufacturing plant and Peterborough UK Head Office.
LEADER IN ENVIRONMENT We created the Internal Office of Environment in 1970: it was the first within the home appliance industry.
GREENHOUSE GAS REDUCTION We joined the Kyoto Protocol in 2003 and we became the first appliance manufacturer in the world to set Greenhouse Gas (GHG) reduction targets. In 2022, we achieved approximately 25 percent GHG emissions reduction in scopes 1 and 2 compared to the prior year.

SUPPORTING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY

We provide free parts for the first 10 years of owning your appliance, provided our highly qualified engineers fit them. When we deliver your appliance, we'll offer to remove and recycle the packaging on your behalf and recycle your old appliance for a small fee. We can either recycle your old appliance or, if it can be refurbished, we will do so in our reworks facility in Peterborough so someone else can benefit from it. More than 500,000 kitchen appliances have been refurbished in the UK over the last 10 years, saving them from being sent to landfill.

PLANET MARK CERTIFIED

We are the only large kitchen appliance manufacturer to receive the Planet Mark Business Certification, demonstrating our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint. We've reduced our emissions in our sites by 20% and reduced waste emissions by 46%.

GentlePower Technology
GentlePower Technology carefully sprays water onto laundry like a waterfall, providing a thorough wash, whilst optimising energy and water use by 65% and 59%*.

Load Detect
Load Detect understands the exact quantity of laundry that is inside the drum and adjusts the quantity of water and energy needed for the cycle. Using just the right amount of water and energy helps you save up to 45% energy and 50% of water**.

Recyclability
GentlePower washers are made of 87% of components that can be recycled.

Heat Pump Technology
Heat pump tumble dryers are the most efficient way to tumble dry your laundry. Unlike traditional vented or condenser models, heat pump dryers do not use a heating element to dry your laundry, instead they use recirculated air to gently dry and protect your clothes with a cooler temperature.

ActiveCare washing machines

ActiveCare Technology
Remove the most stubborn stains, at temperatures as low as 20°C*, protecting your clothes so they stay looking their best, for longer. ActiveCare technology pre-mixes water and detergent to create a powerful cleaning mousse, that penetrates deeply into fabrics, even at low temperatures, removing stubborn stains, such as wine, coffee, oil and tomato sauce.

ActiveLoad Technology
Let Hotpoint's ActiveLoad technology help keep your bills in check. It uses just the right amount of water and time for the perfect wash, everytime. By measuring the weight of the laundry, and constantly monitoring the water absorbed throughout the cycle, it ensures only the minimum amount of resources are used, whilst delivering a great washing result.
